Green Energy

At Yettel, we not only connect people, devices and business, but also use all of our energy to change the world around us.

At the beginning of 2023, Yettel and CETIN Bulgaria signed a 10-year Power Purchasing Agreement for supply of renewable electricity with Electrohold Trade. Through it, the major part of the electricity consumption of both companies will be covered by a 124 MW photovoltaic power plant.

Emissions saved

Powering our network and a large part of our operations (offices, shops) with solar energy, enables us to decrease Yettel's carbon emissions. Based on the PPA contract, we expect to save over 33 tons of carbon emissions per year, equivalent to the emissions emitted by 6,450 households over the same period.

*saved emissions are calculated based on the average annual values of electricity consumption of the two companies, the emission factor for the electricity grid in Bulgaria, as well as the time since the official launch of the photovoltaic plant.

The most reliable network is now green

At Yettel, we strive to achieve balance in everything we do. Therefore, our network will not only be powered by electricity from renewable sources, but we will also continue to invest in its improvement, with the aim of maintaining the quality of the most reliable network in Bulgaria.

In August 2022, PPF Telecom Group (of which Yettel and CETIN are part of) publicly committed to set targets for reducing its greenhouse gas emissions in accordance with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) criteria. Currently, the Group is preparing a comprehensive program to allow greenhouse gas emissions reduction, with the PPA between Yettel Bulgaria, CETIN Bulgaria and Electrohold Trade being the first major step in the Group’s Decarbonization Strategy.
